NEW DELHI: Reliance Communications emerged as the most active stock on NSE in morning trade on Thursday.
With over 1.25 crore shares
changing hands, the scrip led the pack of most traded stocks.
It was followed by Tata Motors (number of shares traded: 0.84 crore) and PC
Jeweller (0.76 crore)
Vedanta (0.58 crore), JP Associates (0.49 crore), Ashok Leyland (0.46 crore), Jet Airways (0.40 crore), State Bank of
India (0.40 crore), Ruchi Soya Industries (0.39 crore) and GVK Power Infra (0.39 crore) also featured in the league of most traded stocks in
that order.
Market registered a positive opening underpinned by gains in IT, financial and bank stocks following overnight gains in the Wall
Street.
US stocks ended with small gains on Wednesday after minutes from the Federal Reserve's latest meeting suggested higher inflation
may not result in faster interest rate hikes, Reuters reported
The NSE Nifty index was trading 23 points up at 10,453, while the BSE Sensex was up 112 points at 34,457 around 09:40 am.
In the Nifty
index, 25 stocks were trading with gains, while 25 were suffering losses
Infosys, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, Tata Consultancy Services and HDFC were leading the pack of Nifty gainers.
On the
other hand, Tata Motors, HPCL, BPCL, ONGC, GAIL (India) and Vedanta were leading among Nifty losers.
