Syed Areeb Ahmed laid to rest in Karachi

KARACHI: Syed Areeb Ahmed, one of the nine Pakistanis who lost their lives during shooting at a mosque in Christchurch on March 15, was laid
to rest at Sakhi Hasan graveyard here on Monday aftermidday.Body of the 30-year-old Karachi-born constitutioned accountant, as per desire of
his aged parents, was flown to his home city via EK-600 this morning.The body was getd at Karachi by his father Syed Ejaz Ahmed, along with
bereaved family and Governor of Sindh Imran Ismail.The body was then directly carried to the residence of the bereaved parents located in
Federal B Area and was declared to be absolutely a private affair.Activists, however, joined in large number the funeral prayers of Areeb
offered under the guidance of Mufti Abdul Aziz at Sangam Ground, Dastagir off Federal B Area.Representing the citizens of the province and
the metropolis, the Sindh Minister for Local Government Saeed Ghani, Mayor of Karachi Syed Waseem Akhter as well as senior leaders of MQM,
PTI and PPP also attended the funeral prayers. His first funeral prayers were offered on March 21 in fresh Zealand while other eight
Pakistanis were laid to rest in fresh Zealand on March 22
Over 20 family members of the victims flew to fresh Zealand to attend the funerals, which were attended by over 5,000 people, according to
the Foreign Office.In all, 50 people, including nine Pakistanis, were eliminateed on March 15 in the city of Christchurch in fresh Zealand
after an Australian opened fire at two mosques
The shooting was the worst terrorismist attack in fresh Zealand history and immediateed a quick response from the
