Stock market update: FMCG index in the green; Tata Global Beverages, Britannia among top gainers

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks Tata Global Beverages (up 2.43 per cent), Marico (up 1.43 per cent) and Britannia Industries (up 1 per cent) were
trading with gains during afternoon trade on Tuesday, underpinning the sectoral index
The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.27 per cent up at 28,471 around 01:05 pm
Shares of Colgate-Palmolive (India) (up 0.82 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (up 0.46 per cent) and Hindustan Unilever (up 0.34 per
cent) were also up. ITC (up 0.20 per cent), Emami (up 0.14 per cent) and Procter Gamble Hygiene Healthcare (up 0.12 per cent) were trading
with small gains
On the other hand, United Spirits (down 1.56 per cent), Godrej Industries (down 1.10 per cent) and GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare
(down 0.82 per cent) were the top losers in the FMCG index. United Breweries (down 0.45 per cent) and Dabur India (down 0.40 per cent) were
also incurring losses. Shares of Jubilant Foodworks were almost flat around that time
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 21 points at 10,607, while the BSE Sensex was 39 points down at 34,973
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red
Cipla, Reliance Industries and Bajaj Finance were leading among the Nifty gainers.
