Stock market update: Capital goods index up; Graphite India surges 5%

NEW DELHI: The BSE Capital Goods index was trading 1.35 per cent up at 18,341 around 02:10 pm, with Graphite India (up 5 per cent) and
Kalpataru Power Transmissions (up 4.81 per cent) as top gainers. Shares of ABB India, Thermax, Reliance Naval and Engineering and CG Power
and Industrial Solutions jumped up to 3 per cent in the capital goods index. Siemens, GE TD India, Welspun Corp, Bharat Electronics and
Suzlon Energy climbed up to 2 per cent
Larsen Toubro (up 1.42 per cent), SKF India (up 1.15 per cent), Lakshmi Machine Works (up 1.07 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (up
0.82 per cent), NBCC (India) (up 0.59 per cent), AIA Engineering (up 0.54 per cent), Havells India (up 0.41 per cent) and BEML (up 0.27 per
cent) were also in the green. However, Sadbhav Engineering (down 2.71 per cent), Va Tech Wabag (down 1.57 per cent), Finolex Cables (down
0.80 per cent), Carborundum Universal (down 0.47 per cent), Schaeffler India (down 0.19 per cent), Mahindra CIE Automotive (down 0.15 per
cent) and V-Guard Industries (down 0.05 per cent) were down around that time
Benchmark BSE Sensex was up 246 points at 35,149, while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 78 points at 10,671. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty
index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red
The Sensex kitty had 28 stocks advancing and 3 declining. Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors and Sun Pharma were leading the pack of Sensex
gainers.
