Stock market update: These stocks surged up to 20% on NSE on Thursday

NEW DELHI: Shares of Maithan Alloys (up 20 per cent), Ramky Infrastructure (up 19.98 per cent) and Unitech (up 19.28 per cent) surged up to
20 per cent on NSE on Thursday amid positive market sentiment. Stocks such as V-Mart Retail (up 14.85 per cent), Fertilizers and Chemicals
Travancore (up 14.79 per cent), IFB Industries (up 12.75 per cent) and Avanti Feeds (up 11.07 per cent) climbed over 10 per cent. Indian
equity benchmarks extended their gains to the second straight session riding on gains in most sectors, led by bank, IT, auto and metal
stocks, a day after the central bank of the country increased repo rate and maintained neutral stance. The Nifty50 clocked up a gain of 84
points, or 0.78 per cent, settling at 10,768, with 37 stocks in the green and 13 in the red. The Sensex index rose 284 points, or 0.81 per
cent, to end the day at 35,463, with 22 stocks advancing and 9 declining. Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Indiabulls Housing Finance, ICICI Bank,
Axis Bank and Asian Paints finished Thursday's session as the top gainers in the Nifty index. VIP Industries, JSW Steel, Infosys, Gruh
Finance, Firstsource Solutions, Britannia Industries and Bajaj Finance featured among the 10 stocks that touched 52-week highs on NSE on
Thursday.
