Share market update: TCS, ICICI Bank most active stocks in value terms on NSE

NEW DELHI: Tata Consultancy Services (Rs 860.57 crore) finished Monday's session as the most active stock in terms of value on NSE. It was
followed by ICICI Bank (Rs 808.08 crore), Tata Steel (Rs 585.80 crore), Reliance Industries (Rs 573.70 crore) and Dr
Reddy's Laboratories (Rs 541.74 crore). Shares of Strides Shasun (Rs 540.09 crore), Infosys (Rs 522.95 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 378.10 crore),
State Bank of India (Rs 375.18 crore) and Vedanta (Rs 360.87 crore) also featured among the most active stocks in value terms. Headline
indices Nifty and Sensex ended the day in the negative territory after a choppy trade owing to losses in a majority of sectors, led by
metals, bank, IT, capital goods, consumer durables and telecom
However, gains in oil and auto stocks kept the fall restricted. The BSE Sensex fell for 74 points, or 0.21 per cent, settling at 35,548,
while the Nifty finished Monday's session at 10,800, down by 18 points or 0.17 per cent. Overall, 20 stocks remained in the green in the
Nifty pack, compared with 30 stocks that went home with losses. Sensex witnessed 11 stocks advancing and 20 declining at the end of today's
trade. Among the sectors, Nifty Auto and private bank index closed the day in the green, while Nifty Pharma settled almost flat
All other indices closed the day in the red, with Nifty Metal as the top loser, falling 1.74 per cent
