Share market update: Realty stocks crumble; HDIL, Unitech plunge up to 4%

NEW DELHI: Most realty stocks including Housing Development Infrastructure (HDIL) (down 4.27 per cent), Unitech (down 3.53 per cent) and
Indiabulls Real Estate (down 3.23 per cent) were incurring losses during afternoon trade on Wednesday, keeping the sectoral index down
The Nifty Realty index was trading 1.23 per cent down at 273 around 2 pm
Shares of Sobha (down 1.94 per cent), Brigade Enterprises (down 1.88 per cent), DLF (down 1.79 per cent), Godrej Properties (down 1.50 per
cent), Phoenix Mills (down 0.43 per cent) and Oberoi Realty (down 0.42 per cent) were also under pressure. Prestige Estates Projects (up
2.87 per cent) was the only stock in the realty index that was up around that time. Equity markets were down on selling in most sectors
ahead of the expiry of June series of future option contracts tomorrow
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 81 points at 10,688, while the BSE Sensex was 213 points down at 35,277. Among the 50 stocks in the
Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red

Reddy's Laboratories, Hindustan Unilever and Tata Consultancy Services were among the top gainers in the Nifty index. On the contrary, HPCL,
BPCL, Indian Oil Corporation and ICICI Bank were among the top losers in the index.
