Delhi's IGI airport gets India's first terminal for chartered planes, can handle 150 jets per day

GMR Group-led consortium launched India's first General Aviation Terminal facility for private jets at Indira Gandhi International Airport
on Thursday
The event was organised while taking all social distancing protocols into consideration, given the pandemic.Equipped with 57 parking bays,
this new terminal can cater to over 150 private jets per day
The newly-developed flight line or apron is spread over an area of 8 lakh square feet with 24/7 personal concierge services.In fact, the new
General Aviation Terminal has been built to support the movement and processing of passengers flying through chartered flights from IGI

passenger lounges, retail and F-B sections apart from 24/7 personal concierge services, a common processing area with Customs and
Immigrations and immediate access to private jet aircraft stands from the Terminal
Officials believe the Terminal can handle over 50 passengers each hour and will give passengers access to Wi-Fi enabled services.Speaking at
the inaugural event, Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri said, "We expect a bulk of pre-Covid-19 domestic air passengers' traffic
to be back by Diwali this year
A general aviation terminal was the need of the hour at Delhi Airport, which is India's busiest airport, even in these Covid times
