syndicate operating out of Mumbai city
A probe that started with the seizure of cocaine in Delhi led to the arrest of a drug peddler in Mumbai's Vasai. The matter first came to
light on September 1 when sleuths of the drug enforcement agency seized a parcel at Import Custom Examination Area in Delhi
The parcel had originated from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and comprised 670 gm of cocaine declared as 'tailoring material samples' in the
manifesto.Upon the directions of NCB Director-General Rakesh Asthana, controlled delivery orders were issued to trace the parcel to its
recipient
The contraband was replaced with a dummy parcel and a controlled delivery operation put into place. The KYC of the consignee was verified and
led the NCB team to Mumbai resulting in the arrest of Vasai resident S Ghangale
Also a property dealer and construction contractor, Ghangale was taken into custody along with other members of the syndicate, including a
few DJs and party organisers.Ghangale has been taken on transit remand and will be produced in a court in Delhi in the coming days.File
