Army deploys over 3,000 additional troops on Pakistan border to stop infiltration

(File photo)At a time when India and China are engaged in a major standoff in eastern Ladakh, the Indian Army has deployed over 3,000
additional troops on the Line of Control (LOC) to prevent infiltration attempts by Pakistan-backed terror organisations.The additional
troops have been deployed primarily in the Kashmir region of the Line of Control to stop infiltration attempts, top government sources told
India Today TV.Source said the additional troops have been successful in foiling almost all major infiltration attempts and terrorists have
been stopped from crossing over.The army recently foiled an infiltration attempt in North Kashmir's Gurez sector.Sources said there are a
couple of extra battalions of the Pakistan Army on the LoC in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, but it can't be said they are there to help build
pressure on India in support of China.Army Chief MM Naravane recently visited Srinagar to review security situation as Pakistan has been
increasing ceasefire violation.During the visit, the Army Chief visited forward locations on the Line of Control and took first-hand review
of the operational preparedness of troops there.In Srinagar, the Army Chief was briefed on security situation by senior officers of the
Chinar Corps
