Two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar jailed in Chhatrasal murder case

New Delhi: Two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar and another individual were detained on Sunday in connection with the Chhatrasal Stadium
brawl case that resulted in the death of a wrestler here, officials said.Kumar (38) and his associate Ajay, alias Sunil, (48) were detained
from Mundka, Deputy Commissioner of Cops (Special Cell) P S Kushwah stated
The case connects to the May 4 event at the stadium in which wrestler Sagar Rana died and two of his pals, Sonu and Amit Kumar, were hurt
after they were apparently assaulted by Sushil Kumar and other wrestlers.The Delhi Cops had actually announced a benefit of Rs one lakh for
information causing the arrest of Sushil Kumar, who had given that been on the run.Another benefit of Rs 50,000 was revealed for Ajay
Kumar's arrest.Earlier, a Delhi Court had declined to give anticipatory bail to the Olympic medallist, stating he was prima facie the
primary conspirator and accusations against him were severe in nature
Non-bailable warrants were provided versus him and six others
This came days after a lookout notice was provided versus the wrestler.The Delhi Cops filed an FIR in the case under areas 302 (murder), 308
(culpable murder), 365 (kidnapping), 325 (causing severe hurt), 323 (voluntarily triggering hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506
(criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)
It was also signed up under areas 188 (Disobedience to order by public servant), 269 (irresponsible act likely to spread infection of
disease), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common objective) of the IPC and numerous sections under the Arms Act
