after over seven years, was one of the lots of stories of oppression in our society
The CJI was speaking at the first convocation event of the Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) at its Waranga campus in the
city.Former CJI Sharad Bobde, MNLUs founder chancellor, and Supreme Court judge Bhushan Gavai, who is chancellor now, shared the dais along
with senior Bombay HC judges Sanjay Gangapurwala (Bombay HC acting chief justice), Sunil Shukre, Atul Chandurkar and Anil Kilor.Maharashtra
supporter basic Birendra Saraf and Bar Council of India chairman Manan Kumar Mishra also went to the programme together with HC and district
court judges, lawyers and law students.While estimating his landmark judgment in the Navtej Singh Johar case where he held that IPC Section
377 was an anachronistic colonial law that breached the basic rights to equality, flexibility of expression, life and personal privacy,
