Jharkhand man follows YouTube videos to deal with toothache, passes away

HAZARIBAG: A 26-year-old youth identified as Ajay Mahto lost his life after he allegedly consumed excessive kaner (oleander) seeds which he
ate after watching YouTube videos related to recommendations on how to get rid of severe toothache instead of following the advice of
doctors.On Saturday, Mahto was rushed to the Bishnugarh community health centre in Hazaribag after his health deteriorated, but was declared
dead upon arrival by the doctors there
During the medical investigation, Nunuchand Mahto, the father of the deceased and a member of CPM, told doctors that Mantho consumed kaner
seeds after watching YouTube videos to treat his toothache post which he fell ill.Hazaribag civil surgeon S P Singh said, "Kaner seeds are
highly dangerous and could be life-threatening
The youth died on the way to the hospital."The deceased originally belonged to the Nawadih block of Bokaro district.His father said a week
ago, Mahto suffered from intense toothache and was staying at a lodge in the Nutan Nagar colony under Hazaribag Muffasil police station near

Nunuchand said his son was good in studies and had excelled both in the 10th and 12th exams conducted by the CBSE.He said, "A few days back
he suddenly suffered severe dental pain.
