Automobile chauffeur killed in TN for honking at guys cutting cake on road

Ambattur on Thursday night
Eight people, including two juveniles, have been arrested.Eye-witnesses said the autodriver had also told the gang of men to clear the way
and not block the road just before he was killed
The deceased was identified as Kamesh, 25, from Venkateswara Nagar in Ambattur
The autorickshaw belonged to his friend
Kamesh's brother Sathish, 29, was also injured in the attack
On Thursday night, Kamesh picked his brother from Ambattur and was on the way to Oragadam to drop him home.At around 11.30pm, Kamesh was
driving on Ayyappan Street junction where a gang of ten men were cutting a birthday cake
The revellers had blocked the road and Kamesh had to honk for a long time since the road was too narrow, police said
Irked over his continuous honking, the gang picked up an argument with Kamesh
They asked him to wait until the celebrations got over.Kamesh and his brother were opposed to this, and requested the revellers to make way
for their vehicle
Enraged, Gautham, whose birthday was being celebrated, and a few others stabbed Kamesh with knives
Sathish, who tried to intervene and protect his brother, was also attacked
Sathish alerted the neighbours but by then, the gang had stabbed Kamesh repeatedly and fled the spot
On information, police reached the spot and declared Kamesh dead
Sathish was moved to a nearby hospital for treatment.The residents in the locality, who woke up to the gruesome murder said that police
should ensure such celebrations don't happen on the road
