Pakistan prez proposes Nov 6 as date for general surveys

NEW DELHI: Pakistan president Arif Alvi on Wednesday wrote a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, Sikandar Sultan Raja, and
unilaterally proposed November 6 as the date for general elections.In the letter, Alvi said he had dissolved the National Assembly on the
terms of Article 48(5), the general election to the National Assembly should be held by the 89th day of the date of dissolution of the
National Assembly, i.e
date of the general elections comes under its domain.Ideally, elections should be held within 90 days of August 9
year.The ECP has said the elections will be pushed beyond the constitutionally mandated cutoff date following the notification of new 2023
digital census results
