Wednesday, a day after four people, including two who have since passed away, were confirmed to be infected with the virus
The health worker's samples were tested at National Institute of Virology, Pune, according to health minister Veena George.A meeting chaired
by CM Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram instructed the Kozhikode district collector to prevent crowding in public places
All public events in the district will be suspended until September 24, and masks have been made mandatory.Police and local authorities have
begun implementing containment zones in designated wards of nine panchayats, imposing travel restrictions and setting up barricades
The number of containment zones increased from 43 to 58 on Wednesday.The latest case brings the total number of Nipah patients undergoing
treatment in the district to three, with the other two being the nine-year-old son and 25-year-old brother-in-law of Mohammedali (47), the
index case, who passed away on August 30
The number of contacts traced by the health department has risen to 789
