[India] - Uttarkashi: Trapped for 8 days, employees desperate for fresh air

SILKYARA: The challenging, claustrophobic conditions inside the collapsed Silkyara tunnel are taking a toll on the 41 workers stuck there,
according to their fellow workers and relatives
while building the tunnels, so the air and water inside are polluted and toxic.The gases inside are trapped
the workers inside are receiving a constant supply of food, water, and oxygen, there are legitimate concerns about the conditions within the
tunnel.New drill machine has been deployed for rescue operation
the gases from that emanated during construction work to escape
On November 11, there was a lot of activity inside the tunnel, more machines were running, creating dust and tough conditions
We thought it would be a Diwali break for everyone, so everyone rushed to finish the work
inside the tunnel sought more fresh air
Nawani, former director of Geological Survey of India (GSI), said if the ventilation tube on the crown of the tunnel is damaged, it could
lead to choking conditions for the trapped workers
However, the oxygen supplied through a small pipe is making conditions bearable
