Former Secretary of Health Ministry Janaka Chandragupta, who was arrested by the CID over the controversial human Immunoglobulin import
Chandragupta was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) after he had arrived at the CID this morning (18) to record a
statement regarding the controversial substandard Human Immunoglobulin import issue.On Thursday (Dec
14), the Maligakanda Magistrate Lochani Abeywickrama had declared that the court finds the actions of the former Secretary of the Ministry
suspicious.Therefore, the Magistrate also ordered that all responsible parties must be arrested and produced before the court irrespective
of their positions, for the administration of justice over the providing of substandard medicine to the public.The CID had recorded a
statement from the former Health Secretary regarding the matter on two previous occasions.
