The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum says the tender to extract chromite in Azra district of Logar province has been awarded to a domestic
company.The Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shahabuddin Delawer said the contract is valid for five years and the company that won
the bid will invest 151 million afghanis in the mine.Delawer urged the company to stick to the contract terms.According to the ministry,
contracts for 15 large-scale mines have been awarded in the past 10 months.The ministry&s spokesman Hamayoon Afghan added that extraction of
mines in the country is now being done legally.&Since this year, around 50 small-scale mining companies have been awarded contracts to local
