[Afghanistan] - Trump overemphasizes claim that lots of Americans are 'captives' in Afghanistan

Former US president Donald Trump has claimed that there are many Americans who are being held as hostages in Afghanistan, but a US media
outlet has called the remarks an exaggeration.In a video his campaign released last week, Trump said: &We have many American people still
living in Afghanistan, probably as hostages.&NBC News citing two senior Biden administration national security officials said on Saturday
that the IEA is holding two Americans that the US government would like to see released
Other Americans are in Afghanistan at of their own volition, they said.One of the hostages is Ryan Corbett.&We have continually pressed,
including in our meetings with Taliban (IEA) representatives, for the immediate and unconditional release of Ryan Corbett and other
Americans detained in Afghanistan,& Mathew Miller, US State Department&s spokesperson, said on Thursday.IEA confirms detention of two
Americans in Afghanistan Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), has confirmed that two American
citizens are detained in the country. Mujahid said that the reason behind the detention of the individuals is violation of Afghanistan
laws. &Anyone who comes to Afghanistan after obtaining a visa means that they agree to adhere to the laws of Afghanistan and not to violate
the laws
