Himlung Himal records season first summit of 7,000-metre peak

KATHMANDU: A Spanishand two Nepali climbers successfully stood atop the summit of
Himlung Himal in the far western region making the season's first summit of the peak above 7,000m.According to Mingma Gyalje Sherpa,
Managing Director at Imagine Nepal Treks, Spanish climber Miguel Madrid Lopez along with Dipen Gurung and Angdu Sherpa made the season's
first summit on Mt Himlung at around 3:00pm on Monday.

"Spanish couple Miguel and Mary Roca along with Dipen, Angdu and Pemba Chhiri Sherpa headed for the summit push but Mary and Pemba Chhiri
abandoned their bid from Camp III," Mingma G said. Miguel will be heading to Mt Kanchenjunga after a week-long rest in
Kathmandu, he informed
Miguel has already climbed Mt Everest and K2.The climbers have now safely descended to the base camp, according to Mingma G.
