Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Expedition Director at Seven Summit Treks, told THT that the team led by
Mingma Dendi Sherpa opened a climbing route up to 7,900m at around 2:30pm."The route fixing team from SST under the Expedition Operator
Association (EOA) Nepal completed the route fixing up to Everest Camp IV," Chhang Dawa said. The team of rope fixing
members includes Tenjing Gyalje Sherpa, Namgel Dorjee Tamang, Pemba Tashi Sherpa, Gelje Sherpa, Dawa Sherpa, Phurba Chhotar Sherpa, Suku
Bahadur Tamang, Lakpa Rinjin Sherpa, Tashi Sherpa and Pam Dorjee Sherpa."The team will descend to Camp II and down to the base camp for a
rest
Then, after seeing the weather forecast and planning, the team will head to fix the rope to the Everest summit," he informed.According to
SST, the team has a plan to open a climbing route to the summit point by May 10 if weather allows.Earlier, the icefall doctors from
Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee opened a climbing route from the Base Camp to Camp II by placing ropes and ladders on the treacherous
section of the Khumbu icefall on April 17.According to the Department of Tourism, at least 390 climbers from 80 different countries
representing 37 teams have obtained climbing permits for Mt Everest till date.
