[Nepal] - Ilam by-poll: Nembang keeps lead in vote count

As of now, votes from Phakphokthum, Chulachuli, and Mangsebung rural municipalities, Mai municipality, and wards no
1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of Deumai municipality have been completed.According to Chief Returning Officer Keshav Ghimire, Nembang has secured 16,944
votes, while Nepali Congress candidate Khadka has polled 11,273 votes
Independent candidate Dakendra Singh Limbu Thegim has garnered 9,044 votes, Rastriya Swatantra Party's Milan Limbu has received 2,803 votes,
and CPN (Unified Socialist)'s Jit Bahadur Rai has 325 votes. Currently, counting for wards no
6, 7, and 8 of Deumai municipality is ongoing, with votes from Ilam municipality yet to be counted.A total of 69,287 voters cast their votes
in the by-election.The by-election in Ilam-2 was necessitated following the death of Subas Chandra Nembang, who was elected from this
constituency in the House of Representatives in the 2022 elections.
