The officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake have arrested two
Sri Lankan passengers who were in possession of 1,083 mobile phones and 200 high-capacity pen drives, which had not been declared.Police
said that the duo had arrived at the BIA from Dubai this morning (17).One of the two arrested suspects has been identified as a 59-year-old
resident of the Colombo 12 while the other suspect is a 24-year-old hailed from Colombo 14, Ada Derana reporter said.The value of the
confiscated items found in the possession of the suspects is estimated to be around Rs
50 million, according to police
The seized items have been handed over to Sri Lankan Customs for further investigations.
