[Afghanistan] - DoD says it continues to 'pursue' Daesh in the area

INSUBCONTINENT EXCLUSIVE:
Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, said Wednesday in response to a question about &the connection of the United States with the
recent attacks of the Pakistani army against the TTP& around the Durand Line in Afghanistan, that Washington continues to pursue Daesh
leaders and militants in the region.Addressing a press conference, Singh refused to provide more details and specifically refused to express
an opinion about the attacks of the Pakistani army on the territory of Afghanistan. She said however, the US continues to &go after ISIS
militants or ISIS senior leaders, of course, that&s something that we continue to work on in the region.&In August last year, US Ambassador
to Islamabad, Donald Bloom, said in a meeting with Pakistan&s President Asif Ali Zardari that Washington supports Islamabad in the fight
against terrorism. This coincided with strikes by the Pakistani army in Khost and Paktika provinces in Afghanistan. At the time, Islamabad
said it had attacked Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) bases.Pakistan has long accused the Islamic Emirate of providing shelter to TTP
militants. The Islamic Emirate has however repeatedly said it will not allow any group or individual to use Afghanistan soil against another
country. Related Stories:  داعش د امریکا پر
