PM amp;#039;s attention drawn towards Seti River conservation

Conservation Campaign met with PM Dahal on Sunday, urging him to protect the river, which has suffered greatly from human exploitation.The
Campaign's Chairperson, Hem Poudel, briefed the PM on the deteriorating condition of the once pristine river and called for the construction
of dams in 8 to 10 locations for its long-term conservation. The campaigners have demarcated the river and prohibited the
excavation of riverbed sands, soils, and other aggregates.During the meeting, PM Dahal expressed concern over the issue and assured the
campaigners that he would take initiatives for the river's conservation
Extending his gratitude to the campaigners for their advocacy, the PM reaffirmed his commitment to taking action for the Seti River's
preservation, shared Bhuwaneshwor Pokharel, a member of the Campaign.The Seti River, which literally means "the white river," originates
from the Annapurna massif and is one of Pokhara's major tourist attractions.
