The head of UNICEF Afghanistan met with the Islamic Emirate&s acting minister of economy, Din Mohammad Hanif, on Wednesday to discuss the
current situation in the country and stated that since January, the organization has provided health care to about 18 million
Afghans.Tajudeen Oyewale, the head of UNICEF Afghanistan, said in the meeting the organization had provided this care through 240 health
centers across the country.He also said UNICEF is trying to increase the number of programs it is running in coordination with ministries
and sector departments.Hanif in turn expressed appreciation at the organization&s continued assistance to the people of Afghanistan.Oyewale
also stated that UNICEF is currently assisting 250,000 children through their nutrition program.He said the organization has also been able
to provide clean drinking water to 400,000 families
This has been done in close cooperation with the Ministry of Rural Development.In addition, about 400 schools are being targeted in their
construction and renovation of schools program.He added that UNICEF has also provided cash assistance to about 23,000 people who were
affected by climate change and natural disasters in Herat and Baghlan provinces.The post UNICEF assisted 18 million people in Afghanistan
