Speaking at a literary programme organized by the Kathmandu chapter
of the Nepali Writers' Association on Monday, marking the 111th birth anniversary of BP Koirala, Deuba urged NC leaders, activists, and
supporters to draw inspiration from BP's democratic struggles.Deuba also called on party leaders and cadres to launch a campaign to
publicize BP's contributions to the establishment of democracy, Nepal's sustainable development, and the literary field, in order to
solidify the NC as a powerful force
He noted that BP's policy of national unity and reconciliation remains relevant today and highlighted the NC's ongoing efforts to foster
conciliation among all political forces. NC General-Secretary Bishow Prakash Sharma echoed Deuba's sentiments, affirming
that BP is recognized in Nepali politics as a champion of peace, cooperation, and reconciliation
He also remarked that BP's contributions were instrumental in shaping the current parliamentary democratic system.In his remarks, Professor
Krishna Khanal urged NC leaders and cadres to stay vigilant, referencing BP's belief that true party members must always be ready to lead a
revolution, as the political landscape could be dominated by elites.Khanal emphasized that BP symbolized political consciousness and argued
that the current NC has strayed from the political culture BP once established.
