Chitwan sees increase in Dengue and Scrub Typhus cases

In the current fiscal year, which began on July 16, hospitals in Chitwan have reported 1,492 positive cases of
dengue
Of these, 1,155 cases are from within the district, while 337 are from outside.Dinesh Rupakheti, Chief of the Public Health Office in
Chitwan, noted that over the nearly two and a half months of this fiscal year, 1,492 cases were detected from 5,113 tests
The highest number of infections comes from Bharatpur Metropolis, with 462 cases, including two deaths. Ichhakamana Rural
Municipality has reported 376 cases, followed by 184 in Ratnanagar Municipality, 184 in Khairahani Municipality, 31 in Kalika Municipality,
29 in Rapti Municipality, and eight in Madhi Municipality
Last fiscal year, there were 1,831 infections out of 23,840 tests.The months of Bhadau and Asoj (mid-August to mid-October) are peak
breeding season for mosquitoes that transmit dengue, with infections on the rise since mid-July.Additionally, since mid-July, 221 cases of
scrub typhus have been reported from 1,621 tests, with 114 cases within the district and 106 from outside
Last year, the district saw 248 cases from 762 tests.
