It states that significant rainfall has occurred in the majority of the Upstream and Middle Reach catchment locations of Nilwala River Basin
since 1.00 am today (24 )
By evaluating the existing rains scenario and river water levels of Hydrological Stations in the Nilwala River, there is a possibility a
flood situation taking place in low-lying locations of the Nilwala River valley located in Pasgoda, Kotapola, Pitabeddara, Akuressa,
Athuraliya, Malimbada, Thihagoda, Kamburupitiya, Matara and Devinuwara divisional secretariat (DS) Divisions.Accordingly, it is requested to
pay high attention in this regard by the citizens in those locations and motorists driving through those areas.Disaster Management
Authorities are asked for to take sufficient precautions in this regard.
