Sri Lanka Police said an overall of 2,561 suspects with pending warrants against them have been arrested throughout authorities operations
performed across Sri Lanka within the past 10 days, while 167 people directly associated with crimes have also been apprehended.On the
guidelines of Acting IGP Priyantha Weerasooriya, the operation is being conducted jointly by all 607 police stations and other unique units
across the island.This operation was released on January 12 with the objective of crime avoidance, drug prevention and to capture identified
suspects directly involved in crimes.In a media rundown held today (January 22), Police Media Spokesperson SSP Buddhika Manathunga supplied
an upgrade on the development of the operations performed over the previous 10 days.Key details of the operation consist of:172,877
evaluations of individuals performed during the past 10 days since January 126 guns seized, including 3 T-56 rifles and three pistols462 kg
of Kerala cannabis, 15 kg of Hashish, and 8 kg of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) were confiscated64,258 automobiles examined during the
operationThese raids are in addition to the regular traffic operations performed by traffic police officers.
