Qalibaf announced the results, confirming that Hemmati had failed to regain the confidence of lawmakers.President Masoud Pezeshkian, who
attended the session to defend Hemmati, left the chamber before voting began
Cabinet members present in Parliament also exited as lawmakers cast their votes.Under Iranian law, Parliament can impeach ministers if at
least 10 lawmakers submit a request
The minister in question must appear before Parliament within 10 days to respond and seek a renewed vote of confidence
