Two arrested for transporting, ownership of coconut oil unfit for consumption

The Police Special Task Force (STF) has apprehended 2 suspects for carrying and the possession of a stock of coconut oil considered unfit
for human consumption.The raid was carried out last night (09) in cooperation with officers from the STFs Aralaganwila Camp and a group from
the general public Health Office in Polonnaruwa, according to police.One of the suspects was jailed while transporting the stock of coconut
oil in a truck in the Karmanthapuraya area of Polonnaruwa, while the other was arrested for possession of the inappropriate coconut oil
stocks.According to the cops, the jailed individuals, aged 41 and 51, are homeowners of Pannala and Santhiveli.Additionally, 35 metal
barrels consisting of 7,700 liters of coconut oil, 36 barrels containing 7,920 liters of coconut oil, and the lorry utilized for
transportation have been taken into authorities custody.Further investigations are being carried out by the Polonnaruwa Public Health
Office.
