[Iran] - Hasanlu village to be nominated for UN label as premier location

TEHRAN - The ancient village of Hasanlu in northwest Iran is nearing conclusion of its file for engraving as one of the Best Tourism
Villages, a prominent label offered by UN Tourism.Hasanlu is amongst eight Iranian towns chosen for the UN Tourisms 2025 recognition list,
stated a senior authorities from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, CHTN reported on Monday.Speaking during a
recent check out to the village, Seyyed Mostafa Fatemi, Director General of Domestic Tourism at the ministry, explained Hasanlu as a mirror
showing the full spectrum of historic tourism attractions.The authorities stressed the villages abundant blend of cultural heritage, tourist
potential, and handicraft production.To date, just two Iranian villagesKandovan in East Azarbaijan and Esfahak in South Khorasanhave been
recognized by the UN Tourism as leading rural tourist destinations.Hasanlu has exceptional capacities in cultural heritage, eco-tourism, and
nature-based tourist attractions, Fatemi said
The existence of an ancient Hasanlu Hill, among the earliest recognized civilizations, substantially raises the historic status of the
