NEW DELHI: Majority of PSU bank stocks including Bank of Baroda (up 2.55 per cent), State Bank of India (up 2.29 per cent) and Bank of India
(up 2.25 per cent) were trading with gains during the early trade on Monday.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 2.02 per cent up at 2,872
Shares of Indian Bank (up 1.94 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.93 per cent), Canara Bank (up 1.47 per cent), Union Bank of India (up
1.27 per cent), Syndicate Bank (up 1.20 per cent) and Allahabad Bank (up 0.61 per cent) were also in the green.
On the other hand, IDBI Bank
(down 1.63 per cent) and Andhra Bank (down 1 per cent) were down around the same time.
The benchmark BSE Sensex reclaimed the 35,000-mark
and Nifty went past 10,700 today on sustained buying by participants, driven by strong corporate earnings and positive global cues
The NSE Nifty50 index was 50 points up at 10,742, while the BSE Sensex was 187 points up at 35,157.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index,
40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red
State Bank of India, Lupin, TCS, HCL Tech and HDFC were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.
However, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries,
UPL, BPCL and Bharti Infratel were among the top losers in the Nifty index.
