INSUBCONTINENT EXCLUSIVE:
NEW DELHI: Gains in YES Bank (up 4.17 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 2.69 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 1.65 per cent) were keeping
the Nifty Bank index up during afternoon trade on Monday.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.69 per cent up at 25,569 around 12:40 pm (IST)
Shares of Punjab National Bank (up 1.50 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.25 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 1.15 per cent), Federal Bank (up
1.02 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 0.80 per cent) and IDFC Bank (up 0.42 per cent) were also in the green.
However, Axis Bank (down 3.62 per
cent), RBL Bank (down 0.87 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.42 per cent) were in the red around that time
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 56 points at 10,748, while the BSE Sensex was 212 points up at 35,182.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty
index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red
UPL, Reliance Industries and Bharti Infratel were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
On the other hand, YES Bank, Tata
Consultancy Services and Vedanta were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.
