NEW DELHI: The BSE Telecom index was trading 0.52 per cent down at 1,296 around 01:30 pm (IST) on Monday, with shares of Reliance
Communications (down 4.09 per cent) and GTL Infrastructure (down 3.83 per cent) as top drags.
Shares of Bharti Infratel (down 2.21 per
cent), OnMobile Global (down 2 per cent), Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (down 1.73 per cent), GTL (down 0.98 per cent), Idea Cellular
(down 0.51 per cent) and Bharti Airtel (down 0.09 per cent) were also in the red.
However, shares of Vindhya Telelinks (up 3.43 per cent),
Sterlite Technologies (up 2.90 per cent), Himachal Futuristic Communications (up 1.50 per cent), Aksh Optifibre (up 1.45 per cent), ITI (up
0.78 per cent), GTPL Hathway (up 0.72 per cent), Tejas Networks (up 0.27 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (up 0.26 per cent) and Tata
Communications (up 0.09 per cent) were in the green around the same time
Equity benchmarks were in the green on across the board buying, while IT, bank and metal stocks leading.
The NSE Nifty50 index was up 55
points at 10,747, while the BSE Sensex was 210 points up at 35,180.
In the Sensex index, 26 stocks were trading with gains, while 5 were
losing in trade.
Axis Bank, Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank were the top losers in the Sensex kitty.
On the other hand, YES Bank,
Hindustan Unilever and TCS were the top gainers in the Sensex index.
