Market Now: Midcaps trail Sensex; Mphasis, JSW Energy jump up to 5%

NEW DELHI: BSE Midcap index was trailing benchmark Sensex during Tuesday's trade. Around 11:15 am, BSE Midcap was 0.56 per cent up at
16,291, while the BSE Sensex was 0.97 per cent up at 35,901
The NSE Nifty was 0.85 per cent up at 10,899. Shares of Mphasis (up 5.03 per cent), JSW Energy (up 3.96 per cent), TI Financial Holdings (up
3.66 per cent), NBCC (India) (up 3.27 per cent), Adani Enterprises (up 3.27 per cent), Adani Power (up 3.23 per cent), Shriram Transport
Finance Company (up 3.12 per cent) and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (up 2.89 per cent) were the top gainers in the midcap index. On the
other hand, Vakrangee (down 4.98 per cent), Page Industries (down 3.43 per cent), Godrej Agrovet (down 2.80 per cent), Shriram City Union
Finance (down 2.46 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (down 1.80 per cent), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (down 1.28 per cent), IIFL
Holdings (down 1.26 per cent) and Reliance Communications (down 1.11 per cent) were the top losers in the index around the same time
Equity benchmarks were treading higher as BJP was seen getting clear majority to form government in Karnataka. Asian Paints, Bharat
Financial Inclusion, HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever and IndusInd Bank appeared among the stocks that hit 52-week highs on NSE in Tuesday's
trade.
