AGARTALA/GUWAHATI: Manik Saha, whose 10 months as Tripura CM marked him out as BJPs option for a full term at the helm going into the polls, was Monday elected legislature party leader amid lobbying by some within the celebration for Union minister of state for social justice and empowerment Pratima Bhoumik.
A representative for BJP stated all 32 MLAs of the party all endorsed Saha.
His former deputy Jishnu Dev Varma, who lost the Charilam seat to his nephew and royal scion Pradyot Debbarmans Tipra Motha, is tipped to keep the post along with key portfolios like finance.Sources stated BJP waited 3 days after the survey results were stated to assemble the legislature conference in Tripura due to the fact that the celebration hadnt expected Varma and state president Rajib Bhattacharjee to end up on the losing side.
The twin losses reinforced the whisperings in the Bhoumik camp about whether Saha was still the best individual to the lead the new federal government, they said.BJP keeps Tripura, Tipra Motha makes huge gainsIn Nagaland, the BJP legislature celebration Monday decided that celebration member Y Patton would stay deputy CM in the brand-new NDPP-led federal government there.
