NEW DELHI: An unique court on Monday sent out Delhi former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia to 14 days in judicial custody.
The court also mentioned that it will not stop the media from reporting the matter.
If media is reporting, they are reporting.
As long as protests are tranquil, it is fine, the court of unique judge M K Nagpal stated.
The judges remark came after the counsel representing the CBI submitted that the media was providing a political colour to the matter.
In view of the submissions made and more keeping in view the realities that investigation of the case is still pending to uncover the whole conspiracy and the role of other persons included therein, the accused is remanded to JC till March 20, 2023 and he is directed to be produced prior to this court on the above stated date at 2pm physically, as has actually been asked for on behalf of the implicated.
Let his custody warrant be prepared, as per the relevant guidelines and guidelines, specified the court while sending out Sisodia to judicial custody.The CBI in its application did not look for custody of Sisodia however stated that it can look for the same later.
However, the counsel for the CBI sent before the court that Aam Aadmi Party functionaries are politicising the matter and witnesses are terrified .
