NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi held bilateral meetings with his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina and Mauritian PM Pravind Kumar Jugnauth at his residence on Friday.Hasina and Jugnauth are in India to participate in the G20 summit where Bangladesh and Mauritius are special invitees."The progress in India-Bangladesh relations in the last nine years has been very gladdening.
Our talks covered areas like connectivity, commercial linkage and more," PM Modi said after the meeting.The PMO said PM Modi had productive talks with Hasina on diversifying India-Bangladesh bilateral cooperation.
"They agreed to strengthen ties in host of sectors, including connectivity, culture as well as people-to-people ties," it added.After meeting Jugnauth, PM Modi said on X, "PM Jugnauth and I had a very good meeting.
This is a special year for India-Mauritius relations as we mark 75 years of diplomatic ties between our nations.
We discussed cooperation in sectors like infrastructure, fintech, culture and more.
Also reiterated India's commitment to furthering the voice of the Global South."PM Modi is scheduled to hold 15 bilateral meetings over three days as world leaders gather in Delhi for the G20 summit.
On Saturday, he will meet leaders of the UK, Japan, Germany and Italy besides attending the G20 events.On Sunday, he will have a working lunch meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, sources said.
