KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 4Hearing on the writ petition filed at the Supreme Court against the vote of confidence taken by Chief Minister of Koshi Province Uddhav Thapa began from today.

The hearing took place before the division bench of justices - Sapana Malla Pradhan, Kumar Chudal and Nahakul Subedi.CPN-UML Koshi Province Parliamentary Party leader Hikmat Kumar Karki had filed the writ petition naming Koshi Province Chief Parshuram Khapung, Chief Minister Thapa, among others, as defendants in the case.
SC Justice Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada on August 24 had issued an interim order in the name of the province government not to take any long-term decisions stating that CM Thapa's approach in securing vote of confidence was unconstitutional.CM Thapa had taken the confidence motion on August 21.
