CHITWAN, JULY 30The number of tourists visiting Chitwan National Park increased in the fiscal year 2023/24 compared to the previous fiscal year.
Bardiya National Park boasts of 125 Royal Bengal Tigers Nepal exported power worth Rs 16.93 billion last fiscal year A total of 306,837 tourists visited the park in the last fiscal year.
This number is an increase from 299,412 in the fiscal year 2022/23.Information Officer at the Park, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, reported that 274,299 tourists entered the Park from the Sauraha area in 2023/24, compared to 271,731 in 2022/23.
Additionally, 27,956 tourists accessed the Park via Bharatpur metropolis in 2023/24, up from 23,257 in 2022/23.Bishwa Subedi, a tourism expert at Bharatpur metropolitan city, attributed the increase in tourist numbers to the national and international publicity of Chitwan Visit Year.
He mentioned that various events such as religious programmes, the Devghatdham festival, jungle safari mart, and a marathon are being organized to attract foreign tourists.
The newly opened Diyalo Bangla has also become a new tourism destination, further boosting tourist numbers during Chitwan Visit Year.
