KARACHI: Nine participants from Karachi delivered declamations in a Japanese Language Lecture Contest on Sunday at the Japan Information and Culture Centre and put on display their fluency in the Japanese language.
The 34th Japanese Language Lecture Contest was organized by Pakistan Japan Cultural Association (PJCA) which comprised of nine Japanese language students participating and exhibiting their fluency.The winner of the contest, Imran Saeed, spoke about the global warming and how dozens of people died from a suffocating heat wave final year in Karachi as moodatures soared to 40 Celsius degrees.
He stressed for instant action to tackle the dangerous weather and to save lives from a serious threat.
On the other hand, Urwa Sajjad, who gave a speech on ‘Grades don''t define you& was the runner-up whilethe third place went to Sumbul Mehmood who gave an interesting insight into the Japanese onomatopoeia.Speaking at the event, Mr.
