Human rights organization Amnesty International South Asia applauded the government of Pakistan on Thursday over the new Ehsas program that aims to supply a helping hand to the country ‘vulnerable communities.&The official Twitter handle of the non-governmental organization praised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government initiative to secure the economic and social rights of the poor.The appreciation came a day after the Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the new poverty alleviation program titled ‘Ehsas&.
The rights group tweeted: &An important step by the Government of Pakistan to help the country's most vulnerable communities realize their economic and social rights.
The rights to food, housing, education and health lay the foundation upon which a dignified life may be built.& On Wednesday, PM Imran addressed the launching ceremony of ‘Ehsas&, poverty alleviation program where he said that under this, the government would be amending the Article 38(D) of the Constitution to supply food, shelter, education and health facilities to Pakistani citizens.PM Khan added that the government would need to amend the constitution to make these fundamental rights, so the state can guarantee these five important things to the citizens of Pakistan.TheIndianSubcontinent has not verified the content of the source.
