Islamabad: Previous president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf is suffering from rare heart disease cardiac amyloidosis and his chemo therapy was underway, his lawyer informed the court on Thursday.A special court hearing the high treason case Thursday summoned Pervez Musharraf on May 2, to record his statement and traceed to pass an order if the accused failed to seem.The court would issue an appropriate order regarding accused testimony if the former president failed to seem on next date of hearing, the judge observed.Musharraf counsel Suleman Safdar Advocate informed the court that his client wanted to seem before the court on May 13.
The former president was suffering from rare heart disease and his chemo therapy was underway.It was essential for his client to stay in hospital for eight hours in a day for chemo therapy, he further contended.He said Pervez Musharraf was also suffering from a problem of spine after he fell down in washroom.At this, Justice Tahira Safdar commented ‘that time there must be month of Ramazan where the availability of judges was difficult.& If the former president was serious in return then he could come on May 2, as well.The court also handed over a questionnaire under 342 to Musharraf counsel.Musharraf lawyer requested the court to supply total record of high treason case against his client.To this, the court asked the counsel to submit a proper application in this regard.Suleman Safdar added that his client was much an absconder rather the federal government allowed him to travel for medical treatment.Justice Nazer Akber observed that the court had famous these arguments.
