KARACHI: Despite the hike in petroleum and diesel prices, transportation fares shall remain the same, announced President of Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) Irshad Bukhari on Monday.Speaking to the media, Bukhari announced the Combined Natural Gas (CNG) was majorly being used by most of the vehicle owners while a small percent was using diesel.He added further that inflation shall soar following the hike in petrol prices, demanding the government to revert its decision regarding the price increase.On Sunday, the government approved a summary by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) which led to a Rs6 hike in petrol prices taking the total price to Rs98.89.On the other hand, high-speed diesel and kerosene oil prices were also raised by Rs3 each taking their respective prices to Rs117.43 and Rs80.54.TheIndianSubcontinent has not verified the content of the source.
