ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi ruled out the opportunity of revoking the 18th Constitutional Amendment but dropped traces that possible modifications may be done to improve it.
During an interview on Friday, the head of state that the improvement is the 18th Amendment shall be done with total consensus of all federating units.&The 18th Amendment is part of Pakistan Constitution; if the Constitution can be modified, then why much this specific amendment& he had stated.Stressing on a social revolution, President Alvi stated: &Our country has moved out of the shadow of terrorismism and extremism.
We are now heading towards economic progress.
At this point, devout scholars must lead a social revolution and generate public awareness on issues such as cleanliness, civic responsibilities and malnutrition.& He further expressed hope that Pakistan course of development canmuch be put off easily: &We are a nuclear power and one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
