CJP takes suo motu notice of ban on Nawaz's anti-judiciary speechesISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesday took suo motu notice of Lahore High Court's decision to ban transmission of anti-judiciary speeches by ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and other leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.According to Geo News, a notice has been issued to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on chief justice's orders who is due to hear the matter at around 1:00 pm.The Lahore Hight Court on Monday ordered Pemra refrain from airing any contemptuous remarks until it decides petitions against anti-judiciary speeches by the PMLN leaders.While heading a three-judge bench Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi remarked that the court will monitor PEMRA conduct in the next two weeks to see how it implements the court's order.
