President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has requested the international donor agencies to provide a debt moratorium or debt deferment facility to all vulnerable developing nations facing the threat of being affected by the COVID-19.

The Police Media Spokesman SP Jaliya Senaratne warned the public not to step out of their homes other than for a very urgent requirement, adding that those who do so could bearrested even without a warrant.

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said that by4.30 p.m. today (25), there were no new Coronavirus positive patients reported in the country.

The curfew imposed to facilitate self-quarantine is currently in force and so far 3,500 persons who violated the curfew have been arrested, while the majority of them are those who engaged in corrupt activities during the curfew hours, said DIG Ajith Rohana.
